Europe with a Caribbean/jungle vibe?

Hi I know I'm probably asking a lot but we're looking to go away in August/September for a week. We usually go Mexico/Thailand etc as we love hiking in the jungle, waterfalls, exotic plants, snorkeling etc.

Due to other commitments we are limited to when and how long we can go for this year. I don't really want to do long haul or somewhere in the wet season.

Is there anywhere you'd recommend in Europe? Closest I'm seeing is Croatia, maybe Split and travelling to the National parks?

I'd appreciate your suggestions.

No beaches, but for a lush junglely vibe, I'd recommend Madeira.

The Azores! They’re called the Hawaii of Europe - volcanic islands with natural hot springs, very lush green scenery (they get a lot of rain given they are in the middle of the Atlantic…). Amazing for hiking, whale watching, chilling in the hot springs. Have a look at pictures of Sete Cidades - a crater lake you can do a great hike around, the Terra Nostra Garden (which has a hotel attached) and the Gorreana tea plantation - you can visit and buy the tea. They have pineapple plantations too. It’s honestly one of the best places I’ve been.

Corsica? Lovely heights up into the mountains, where you can wild swim in the mountains rain river and truly beautiful beaches with crystal clear water.

It’s beautiful, the down side is that often people don’t speak much English. I had to really brush up on my French before we went. But I got by and it was quite fun to have to try speaking another language on holiday.

The Azores! We did the Azores in 2013. Gorgeous lagoons with hot springs. Fabulous food and great towns of culture. Beaches are black (and hot!) but it’s a fab shot break- we did 5 nights (6 days) and we rode on horseback much of the largest Sao Miguel island

@Sheabutterisdelish they’re such beautiful islands. Highly recommend a visit! @Shadowboy that sounds like an amazing trip. Want to go back now!
