PCR testing

Can someone just check i'm getting my timings correct please?

Flying on a Saturday - arriving at 18:30 local time (16:30 uk time).

PCR should be taken no earlier than 72 hours.

If doing a postal PCR service, I need to have it arrive on the Thursday for a 24 hour turn round.

My local priority post box takes the last post at 16:45. So I need to get it posted before 16:45 on the Wednesday and technically take the test not before 16:30 on Wednesday or find a later priority post box?

Honestly... find a company with drop boxes not post. Our post holiday ones went AWOL in the post for five/six days...

Go to a test centre I'd be worried a postal one wouldn't be back in time

Would use a test centre for this purpose. Some countries do not accept PCR test results performed other than in a clinic. Your passport number should be noted on such a document.

Agree test centre.
We waited a week for postal results

Definitely a test centre or drop box. Express tests have a few places around the UK

TheRedHen2 · 12/01/2022 21:09

Ok thanks everyone. I will look at finding a test centre.

I recently used a test centre at the airport. Booked test for 8am. Went for breakfast. Got test results and went back to airport for check in. Worked really well.
