Rome in June

Is it worth staying in Central Rome or slightly outside with more opportunities for a swimming pool, in early June? Would it be getting too hot for sight seeing then? Have been looking at vrbo and air bnb for accommodation. Any suggestions for making it a memorable holiday?

I will try and search for it as have no idea how to link it. I am looking for a 2 bed apt but most are 1 double bed with sofa and I need two single for ds and dd. When I put with pool some include the bath as a pool! It takes some sleuthing
