Vietnamese holiday plans

We have saved lots for a family holiday in August. We're all set on Vietnam. Can anyone recommend a travel company? We don't want to be on tours with other families but I want a relatively easy time so quite keen not to book everything else independently.

We'd like to do the usual, some culture, beaches and general exploring.

I travelled with Inside Asia Tours to Japan and they were excellent, selecting an itinerary that took us off the usual tourist trail as well as the usual well know destinations - I believe they organise for Vietnam too. They put together a very thoughtful, personalised itinerary rather than an off-the-shelf plan - I would travel with them again (and will when I can!)

Thank you, that's just the sort of advice I was after, I will check them out.

Selective Asia. I've used them twice, the second time COVID hit (March 2020) and they went above and beyond. What I loved both times was they stuck to budget, no up selling just really honest this is what we can do for your budget, advice. We travelled Vietnam and Cambodia with them. The only part of the trip that wasn't perfect was the bit we invited on against their advice!
Our second planned trip was with young children and they gave this every consideration.
I will definitely travel with them again

Vietnam is wonderful.

Check the weather for August: The rainy season in the North is very rainy. When we went it was June and we stayed in Central Vietnam, there were serious floods in Hà Nội.

We made all our arrangements independently, hotels and ‘home stays’ (which are actually hotel / guest houses) via Horels.Com, I think. Very good domestic trains and planes. Taxis to places we visited we booked from the corner shop by the hotel, which were punctual and helpful.

There were leaflets for things like Eco Fishing Tours , which were small scale and interesting.

We went a few years ago with Wendy Wu: excellent
