UK Holiday February half term - driving distance from London

Thinking on going away in February half term, 2 adults 2 children 10 and 13. Where could we go that is driving distance from London. We like outdoors activities: cycling, walking, the sea, etc.

As we have not been able to travel much outside the UK in the last 2 years we have visited Isle of Wight, Dorset, North Devon, Northumberland.

Ideally no more than 5 hours drive.

We can do London to Whitby in pretty much exactly five hours if the traffic isn’t too bad. There’s a lovely cycle trail called The Cinder Track.
Otherwise I’d recommend the Peak District, maybe staying near Bakewell for the Monsal Trail.

Norfolk! Great beaches, loads of walks, lots of historic villages to amble around in. Make time for the muckleburgh military collection if it's open as there is sooo much to see there for people of all ages, and Holt is a great base anyway.

Dorset/Devon coast nearer to Exmouth if you've not been there?

North Norfolk Coast. There’s a huge cycle route around the region and so much to do. I like the Brancaster / Holkham area

Thank you. I think Norfolk will be good, we went about 3 or 4 years ago with mother in law when she came from overseas so couldn't do any cycling, just walking and visit some villages. I don't think we have been in the North part.

We went to the Peak District on our way to Northumberland and did the Monsal trail. We have also been in North Devon and Dorset.

Never heard of Whitby. Will check it out.

Husband was also thinking Forest of Dean area. Anyone know anything about it?
