Kew Gardens - Christmas experience

Looking for something Christmassy to do over weekend with DS1 and 2, 4 and 16 months. Anyone been to Kew? The snowdome and Father Christmas and Plantomime sounded like they might be fun?

there's also a big winter wonderland thing in Hyde Park if you want to brave central London

We've been to Kew. DS (4) enjoyed the Plantomime and Father Christmas immensely. It is a very tasteful Santa - you go in in small groups to see him in his "woodland glade" (indoors!) and he chats to the children for a few minutes. DS found the Snowdome a bit weird because the snow is that foamy stuff and not real snow, but his friend of a similar age had a lovely time (so did all the parents). There's also a carousel, small train ride thing (for younger children), and horse and carriage rides.

NB; Kew Gardens closed on Christmas Eve so go tomorrow If you did't go today.

Can I ask a silly question? Do you have to pay entry into kew gardens/hyde park as well as the individual attractions?
