Day 2 PCR test

It’s my understanding that on arriving back in the UK you’ve to take a PCR test. So, example we arrive back from New York early Sunday so need to book a PCR Tuesday morning. Is that right? Also, do you need to isolate from landing to getting a negative PCR beyond driving for that test of course.

You don't have to wait until day 2 - it just needs to be done by day 2. You can take it as soon as you land and you have to isolate until the result.

You dont need to wait 2 days and yes you need to isolate until you get your results

You need to take it before day 2, and isolate from landing to receiving a negative result (except for travel to/from airport and test).
You need to have booked the pcr (private not nhs) before flying.
