Hi,
After an ongoing claim with my present company, Norwich Union, who have been appalling, I need to re-new policy in Jan. Looking for family cover, to inc a heart related condition, which is not serious, cover for uk and Europe, won`t sadly be going long haul next year!

MoneysavingMartin has a bit about it - trouble is that generally the pre-existing specialists are aimed more at the elderly and don't do family cover, I was just looking in Which and none of their cheap family policies were recommended for pre-existing conditions.

I'm not sure if it's possible for you to insure yourself with one company as an individual, and then for the rest of the family to get a family policy - I think it isn't though, as they'd need to be covered if you had to come home or something, I think I asked about that once.

All you can do really is google and then get lots of quotes. It's a bummer.

forum from MSE - but most of the posters are older people so their recommendations may not apply for your family.

In my case they said they would not cover for anything linked to the heart ( the whole body I thought according to my basic biology). Insurance comps have a reputation for not paying up and finding exclusions so in my case I decided to pay as it is not that much more. I always think that if you do not declare they will find out anyway somehow !
