Ryanair - changes with no fees / charges before 31 Dec

I’m wondering if anyone has managed to do this successfully? Our flights were booked much earlier in the year for travel before 31 Dec, so in theory we are eligible for the offer to pay zero fees / charges to change our flights to a different date.

However, when I click to manage my booking, it says that any changes will cost £45 pp plus any increase in flight costs.

I can’t see how we can do this without incurring the extra £45pp.

Has anyone else done this?

Thanks

I managed to change mine for free but it was longer than 7 days before the flight and I wasn't checked in. It just came up with £0 when I changed.

Ah ok thanks - that helps. It is more than 7 days for us too. I just haven’t clicked right through as I don’t know until after tomorrow if we will actually change. Hopefully this will work and come up at £0 for us too.

Yes, click right through and should be £0 at the end!

Phew - thanks. I suspect we will be doing this tomorrow… 😬

We had to change twice in the last couple of weeks (I think two changes were permitted under the promotion). First change was free however our second change, which is within 7 days of the flight, has been charged at £45.

OP did you manage to change your flights without a fee? I was in the same boat and couldn’t see a way of changing the flights without a fee (despite meeting their own no-fee criteria). I’ve started to go down the insurance as Ryanair have been no help but wondered if I just wasn’t doing it right?
We should have been flying out on the 27th.

I changed our Ryanair from December Grand Canaria (dc not double jabbed) to October for £720 😩

Hi there, sorry you can’t travel. We have decided to go ahead now as there don’t seem to be additional restrictions and we’ve all just had covid so it seems like a good time for us to travel tbh. Might be worth tweeting Ryanair to see if you get a response, but it doesn’t always work - they’ve ignored me in the past! Hopefully you’ll manage to reclaim from your insurance provider if you can provide evidence of trying and failing to get a response from Ryanair.

Gosh that’s painful! But at least you have a nice holiday to look forward to, and hopefully the world will be in a different place by then. ❤️
