Nice & Antibes

Hi

We are going to Nice & Antibes next year, 2 nights Nice then 4 in Antibes then need to find somewhere near Nice airport for the last night. Wondered if anyone knew of a nice town or village to stay in near the airport (relying on taxi or public transport early in morning).

Why not stay in Antibes, get the train to St. Augustin from Antibes and a short walk takes you to the tram at Grand Arenas to the airport (tram is free for the trip Grand Arenas to airport).

No point in packing up, unpacking and packing again when you will already be in a lovely spot anyway! Trains and trams start very early, see TER Nice and Nice tram.

@codexa thank you, just checked this all out and that makes much more sense. I somehow thought it would be a nightmare/panic but it’s not far at all!

It's only about 20 mins in a taxi. Probably as long from the Airport to Antibes as it is to downtown Nice. Or take the train as per PP.

I'm unsure whether to stay there or Anribes for 4 nights (the 3 nights priort will be Monaco) no kids

Nice has loads to do! Wander round the old town/Cours Saleya. Elevator to top of Colline du Chateau. Art museums, roman ruins, shops on Place Massena. Boat trip to Villefranche to look at the villas. Mini train. Day trip to Antibes. Lovely food. We were there a week ago and I want to go back again already. Cocktails on the beach.

Beware St Augustine. It was a building site this summer and the walk was chaos. On the way back we did Antunes to Nice Centre and got the tram from there (short walk but not difficult). Much easier unless all the building works have been completed!

Hire a car and go to Eze and drive the Grande Corniche. Go to Monaco from Nice on the train. You can also get into Italy or stop at Menton. Lots of great villages in the hills around Nice too. Roquebrune and St Paul de Vence are lovely. There are others.

Nice has around 15 Michelin starred restaurants. Go to one! Or more.

Hi, we loved it! Much preferred Antibes to Nice. We did a train trips to Menton, Cannes, Monte Carlo and Villefranche sue Mer.
We got a bus to Cap d’antibes and did the costal walk.
Antibes has the old town, beaches, fort and just a lovely vibe.

Any suggestions for a nice place to stay in Antibes. 4 star - hotel or apartments ?
