Best all-inclusive hotels Mexico

Stayed in Moon Palace many many years ago, but it’s a bit pricey now to take kids (1 adult, 1 teen). Looking for somewhere with great food, pools, on the beach etc.

Paradisus Playa del Carmen. Best food I've ever had in an all-inclusive.

If you can stretch to it, do the family concierge. Heated pool, private restaurant and a load of extra perks.

Grand Velas Riviera Maya! Honestly the best hotel I've been to.

theshadeofgreen · 05/12/2021 19:37

We adored the now sapphire but I'm sure it was adults only when we went and doesn't seem to be now...

Flogert · 05/12/2021 19:37

Excellence Riviera Cancun - just pure bliss!

Flogert · 05/12/2021 19:38

Oh just seen you have a non adult with you- ERC can be for when they’re all at university Grin

Akumal Bay - amazing spot, saw turtles laying eggs and giving birth, wonderful food and staff

Another vote for Paradisus here, really lovely hotel and great restaurants. Has a family side and an adults only section. Nicest smelling hotel I've ever visited too 😂 Recently visited Excellence Riviera Cancun too, but think Paradisus was prettier and food that bit better.

I love the rui palace mexico in playa del carmen

Yes here!

Plus hot tubs on the balcony of every room.

Whenever I see a thread about holidays in Mexico I'm immediately reminded of the Mexican House Thief thread! Grin

@Snoodledoodle Ahh the smell! It smells like
a really expensive spa.

We went in 2020 right before COVID really hit. We were supposed to go back again, but had to cancel our trip twice for various quarantine reasons and then just gave up.

Can't wait to go back again though - it's one of my happy places.

Prophetorwell · 06/12/2021 18:14

Ooh, thanks all. That’s enough to get started- off to have a nosey!

Another vote for Paradisus - we went to the one in Cancun in February 2020. We had the family concierge which was great (travelled with 18month old DS), and I agree the food was very good. We had such a nice time that my brother went there for his honeymoon last month on our recommendation Smile

Prophetorwell · 07/12/2021 20:09

Paradisus sadly not available on our dates. We’re looking at the one theshadeofgreen mentioned - Dreams Sapphire in Puerto Morelos: www.onthebeach.co.uk/hotels/mexico/riviera-maya/puerto-morelos/now-sapphire-riviera-cancun?mv_pc=googlecpc&CampaignID=8751068618&AdGroupID=118188023954&Keyword=dsa-855002982922&MatchType=&Device=m&AdID=493334618611&gclid=CjwKCAiAhreNBhAYEiwAFGGKPFCLVB596VtbziLsxRljWIpYZuGmCn_JxmHVmRdpLsxB0gTXctVkUBoCiLgQAvD_BwE

It seems Puerto Morelos is a quiet resort compared to Plata Del Carmen, but that’s fine with us - we’re unlikely to leave hotel much - looking for a relaxing beach holiday. Does anyone have any experience of the location or resort please?

Occidental at xcaret is lovely

Was just going to say Xcaret Occidental. Nice pools, amazing grounds with loads of wildlife, beach, good food and great location next to the Xcaret park.
StillFestive · 07/12/2021 20:24

Another vote for occidental at Xcaret. Xcaret park is next to it and well worth a visit.

cataline · 07/12/2021 20:25

Hotel Xcaret (not the Occidental) is the best hotel we've ever been too.

We had a fabulous holiday there two years ago.

I loved this hotel too. Shame wifi wasn't included as we could have done with it to download things to watch after our daughter went to bed. Gorgeous grounds and pools and loved the coati's walking around and the monkeys in the trees over head.
Prophetorwell · 07/12/2021 20:40

I’m not so keen on wildlife. I really don’t want to feel like I’m in the jungle and enclosed - I’d prefer an open, less green resort Blush
