Italy - Covid Passport (Green Pass) rules change from Monday 6th December

Just in case it hasn't made the UK news, here in Italy our Covid passports (Green Pass) change from Monday 6th December.

There will be two, a Standard Green Pass and a Super Green pass for anyone over 12 years old.

The standard can be obtained by being fully vaccinated ( 2 or 3 doses) having a negative test or recovery from Covid, this is mandatory for hotels, changing rooms for sporting activities, regional rail transport and local public transport and to go to work

The Super green pass can only be obtained by full vaccination or recovery from Covid, this will be necessary to access indoor restaurants or bars, cinemas or theatres, gyms or sporting stadiums.

So, only holders of the Super Green Pass can enter indoor restaurants, bars, cinemas theatres, gyms or sporting stadiums.

Thanks for heads up.
So does this mean single vaccinated teenagers 12-17 can't go anywhere, including hotels?

EileenGC · 07/12/2021 23:45

It’s the same in Germany now too. Yes, it excludes single-jabbed teenagers unfortunately, unless they specify it doesn’t apply to u18s.

Teens can get the 2nd jab now, DD had hers last week

Sorry, I might have misread this but what's the difference?

It’s what we call 2G/3G in German speaking countries.

There are certain places only accesible by showing full vaccination, recovery OR a negative test. That’s the Standard Pass.

Others will only be accesible by vaccines or recovery. A negative test doesn’t grant you entry. That’s the Super Pass.

Sorry, I still don't see it. If you are fully vaccinated why are you given a standard pass instead of a super green pass?

FabricedeSauveterre · 08/12/2021 04:04

Previously you could get a pass by having a recent negative test (or recovery cert) if you weren’t vaccinated @madisonbridges. Now only double vaccinated or those with recovery cert are entitled to the super pass.

I’m in Italy right now and not been asked for my pass in hotels, restaurants or on transport (not even the plane!) but they are checking at major tourist attractions.

You are given the same pass, but it can be used as a Super Green Pass in the places where it’s needed, compared to a negative test which doesn’t get you in everywhere anymore.

You are only given an actual "pass" (as in a digital document containing your personal Vax info in the form of a QR code) if you've been vaccinated. It's updated automatically by the centralised system in almost real time (ie I had my booster last Sunday morning, by Sunday evening my Pass was showing the details of the time and type of vaccine administered and that it was my booster) If you produce a negative test or a recovered certificate you are considered to have a Green Pass (equivalent) but you don't get the actual QR code pass. (At least you don't for the negative test, I don't know about the recovery cert) Now you can only use the digital pass (vaccinated) or the recovery cert which acts as a pass (in some places) These two are the "Super" Green Pass.
