Hi , so we paid a fair amount for Christmas in the sun which we can’t do now as my teen has only had one jab
What is the chances of travel companies giving refunds seeing as it’s not our fault .
Trying to get through to them on the phone is a no go since Spain announced the new rules

Won’t it depend on your insurance? Some policies cover covid cancellations due to gov changes but not all.

anniegun · 01/12/2021 17:49

Depends on the companies terms and conditions. Its not your fault, but not theirs either. I assume you did look at the conditions around coronavirus restrictions when you booked as there was a very high likleyhood of these restriction your plans?

CoachBeardless · 01/12/2021 17:50

What does your insurance say?

purplecorkheart · 01/12/2021 17:52

I would imagine it all depends on the terms and conditions you signed and or the terms and conditions of your travel Insurance.

The company is not at fault and are still offering the service as booked. It is just now one member of your party do not met the entry requirements so it really is going to come down to the small print. I doubt the company will take the hit though when it is nothing to do with them and the flights and accommodation are still there.

Drumshambo · 01/12/2021 18:12

I doubt you'll get any refund from a travel company. You can still technically go, it's just that one of your party doesn't meet the entry requirements.

Hersetta427 · 01/12/2021 20:42

Depends on the travel company - jet2 are offering a refund if you have a 12-15 yr olds on your booking

PurpleFlower1983 · 01/12/2021 21:30

Jet2 are offering refunds, I imagine Tui will be also, they’re generally good.

Frostytiger87 · 01/12/2021 21:51

Our travel company have said that they’ll refund hotel , transfers etc but not the flights
Failing that we could change destination or dates 🤷‍♀️

Are jet 2 offering full refunds for hotels , flights etc ?

Hersetta427 · 01/12/2021 22:44

If you booked a pa late yes (maybe not if you booked items individually).

llm24 · 01/12/2021 22:47

In my experience if you book your holiday separately then it’s most likely the flight company will
not refund the flights

Always book through a Travel agent and you wouldn’t have this problem

gogohm · 01/12/2021 22:49

Depends if it's a package or separate bookings. Airlines, well Ryan air are a nightmare

PurpleFlower1983 · 02/12/2021 05:27

@Frostytiger87

Are jet 2 offering full refunds for hotels , flights etc ?
For package holidays yes, I believe so. A friend was told to wait to make sure there was no change but failing that she would be refunded.
Frostytiger87 · 02/12/2021 15:29

I think we are going to wait and see what happens as well

We were in the same situation; we were going to Gran Canaria. Our package holiday was with EasyJet and they have offered us 100% refund of the total cost of the holiday including the extra we paid to be sat next to each other. We didn't have to go through insurance for this. Just a phone call to E Jet was needed.

Fingers crossed you'll get a full refund.

Frostytiger87 · 02/12/2021 17:03

Omg Lykia , how lucky are you , Ryanair are known for being a bad airline & delivering bad customer service , we are gutted all we can do is rearrange our holiday for another time or change destination
