Travel insurance and booster vaccine warning

Just a bit of a warning really, speaking as someone who is due to travel soon but reluctant to get booster just before a trip due to side effects experienced in the past…

If anyone else is going abroad soon and intends to delay their booster until they get back then be aware that your travel insurance ( Covid cover) almost certainly won’t cover you if you’re turned down a vaccine appointment.

I’m posting because the new booster roll out might catch people out as it can impact travel, hence this thread.

I will be double vaccinated plus four months at the time of my holiday yet my holiday insurance will treat me as not fully vaccinated…

Does your insurance specify an ‘expiry date’ for the vaccine? I’ve just had my booster but am slightly worried that I did it too quickly, bearing in mind my summer holiday! I’m hoping everywhere will stick with the 9 months I’ve seen, but if it’s 6 months I’m going to need another one…. So hard to know what the situation will be next summer though.

If you are double vaccinated plus four months are you even eligible for a booster yet? I thought it was still a six month gap?

They've cut it to 3 months

Mine doesn't. In fact it specifically says in the FAQs you can get insurance with no jabs.

In practice you still generally can't get it until 6 months in England.

@Pearlyqueen21 the policies I’ve seen ( my own and others I’ve seen) just state ‘recommended vaccines’. This includes getting a booster whenever the government says, which could be three months after the last - whenever I’m summoned.

@SagittariusDwarf- this is my second thread. One in AIBU initially and one here for fellow holiday makers because how ever unreasonable I apparently am on my views the reality may catch other travellers out and I wanted to let people know:)
