Panic - Covid pass for 14 yo - travel to Canada

In a bit of a panic!

DA has had the one jab - exDH is arranging holiday and has asked for his NHS Covid pass.

From what I can see a pass can only be obtained for a 16+?

He says that because the first jab was only done in October he is fully vaccinated to date?

Does anyone have a clue?

He isn't fully vaccinated as they count that as having 2 doses regardless of age. He would have to quarantine if he goes with only 1 dose

NHS Covid Passes are only available to 16+ with 2 vaccinations. Single jabbed 12-15 years old are not eligible. So that’s us not going away for the next 6 years…

Looks like your DC would have to quarantine for 14 days. Not for you to panic about though. If exH is organising the trip it's for him to look in to, research and get the required documents/information.

Different countries have different requirements and these will change over time. Even now there are places you can go with partially vaccinated or unvaccinated teens.

Thank you everyone. That was exactly as I understood, but am being told otherwise! I was just checking I hadn't completely misread

Oh dear - your poor DS! Has he spoken to his dad himself (if your ex is ignoring the information you are giving him)? Surely his dad is setting him up for a major disappointment?!

BTW you can get a signed certificate thing from the GP re any vax your child has had, to replace the COVID pass (but he is not fully vaxxed anyway). it is an absolute bind for young teenagers!
