We've been talking about plans for next summer and whilst DH & I were all set on a 2 week all inclusive in Turkey or similar, the DC (will be 13 & 16) prefer the idea of getting a house with a pool and taking a friend each. Having looked at what our budget will get us AI and being a bit underwhelmed, I'm warming to the idea especially if we can find somewhere that has things like table tennis and bikes and have a few amenities in walking or cycling distance. DH has suggested asking his mum to come too as she's not been on holiday for years and I'm very happy to have her there as she's lovely but not sure whether it work along with 4 teenage boys 
. Can't really afford to pay for flights for everyone so will look to drive to somewhere like western France.
Has anyone done this? Any tips or words of warning?
