How long to get through security?
trumpisagit · 21/10/2021 12:53
Assuming you have all the correct documents to hand, how long is it currently taking to get to the gate.
This is a smallish regional airport with an early morning flight.

We have just flown out of Bristol.
Getting through security took less than 10 minutes.
We had printed our boarding passes so could have gone straight to the gate (no bags to check), but we went to the main check in desk first and they checked that we had all the correct covid paperwork and put a little sticker on our boarding pass so that we didn't need to produce all the paperwork again at the gate.

Brilliant. It's Bristol. Great tip re check-in and paperwork.

My major issue with Bristol Airport was that the Burger King was closed
Enjoy your trip.

Friend flew from Stansted early on Monday morning. Security took an hour and a half. Luckily a friend had warned them the previous day so they arrived early.

I got through Liverpool airport in about 10 minutes this morning.
I'm going to start to use it more often despite it being slightly further away from Manchester, where it took nearly 2 hours a couple of weeks ago.
It's a good job we arrived 3 hours early as we wanted time to have breakfast.

We're going from Manchester but have paid for the fast track through security.

East Midlands are refusing printed boarding passes, saying they don't want to handle paper. Just warning.

Thanks for the tip vajingleberry, we are flying next week so might try this too. Out of interest how did you get to airport and where did you park?

That's odd - we flew from East Midlands on Sunday and they couldn't be more happier to scan us through with our printed tickets. The crisis was Burger King being shut!

@tumpymummy
We don't live in the UK so we got a cab to the airport.
Can't help with the parking - but all the car parks looked pretty full compared to the French end.
We travelled just after midday and the airport seemed relatively quiet.
Not many masks in evidence though.

Heathrow T5 last Thursday was an absolute doddle- can’t remember getting through so quickly before. Unfortunately the same couldn’t be said for one of our suitcases, which BA decided needed another 24 hours before it could join us…

Flew out of Manchester twice in September.
First time took two hours to GET to the security queue (check in was horrendous) and 5 mins to get through.
Second time between parking car and having the first sip of my Starbucks was about 15mins including check in, bag drop, baby crap large bag drop, security and a wee stop!
