COVID booster validity

Heres an interesting conundrum. he got his second Jag on the 31st of May. I got my 2nd Jag on the 9th of June. Therefore he gets a booster @ 31st of November, and I get mine @ 9th December. Happy days except for one thing. We go to France from Ireland mid May 22, returning June 7th. Adding 6 mths to 31st Nov 21 means his booster runs out while in France, and mine doesn't. Mmnnn! Question is will the Irish need double Jag and booster proof? Also what will the French think of a vaccination booster not covering the trip? This is assuming the booster lasts 6 mths of course! Appreciate it if someone could tell me the validity period for double vaccinations and boosters? We live in N. Ireland btw so UK rules.

But not everyone is getting a booster so I'm not sure it's something they will look at

Does anyone know how long the boosters will last? Also does he current double vaccination have an expiry date?

have they confirmed your booster dates, as I should be getting mine now in England and havent heard a dicky bird....except for javid saying we ought to get them. And when i looked on our county's website it says that you shouldnt have the booster until at least 6 months after the second jab.

Hi. Yeah, supposedly 6 months after 2nd jag. But how long do they last is still a mystery. I suspect the way things are going 7 months is probably closer to the mark.

I got a text exactly 6 months after my second jab.

I held off applying for my travel certificate until after I’d had my booster, but it doesn’t even recognise a third jab. As far as it’s concerned I’m fully vaccinated after 2. So unless the app updates to account for boosters, it’s pretty irrelevant.

That's good info. I guess it ultimately depends on the view of the country you're going to.

hurray, been trying to book booster online and it wouldnt let me as said i wasnt eligible but now i am at almost 6 months and a week.

Bells3032 · 30/10/2021 13:20

I doubt you'll get it exactly six months to the day. I got my invite about six months and a week later. My husband (different gp) had his nearly 7 months ago and still not been invited.

So must book your husbands a week or two after the date if you're worried about it.
