Do I need to sign for my passport delivery?

Hi, just a quickie I’m out today and have just been told my passport is on its way. Do I need to sign for this or do they put them through the letterbox? TIA

No it just went in letter box, I was surprised!

It varies by postcode. In some you have to sign for it, in others you don't. And the list varies over time
