Print everything off when travelling abroad

Just thought I would post here because someone gave me this advice before I travelled in September and it really was good advice.

Would recommend you print everything off to carry with you because when I travelled in September the queues were caused by people with apps. Anyone who had everything printed off got through very quickly.

So boarding passes, NHS COVID-19 Certificates, negative PCR tests, entry forms for the country you are travelling to.

Hope that is in some way helpful.

I agree

Yep definitely. And sort out your return test ASAP. We're in Majorca and struggling to get a test for our return

When we travelled to Greece earlier this year I didn't need any of my print outs but I'm still glad I had them.

Good tip

Yes this. It makes for far less stressful queuing

OR if you have an iPhone, add them to your wallet so they’re all in one place

Absolutely agree. We booked everything with dochq before we went and the number you need for your UK passenger locator form is the reference number from your order.

I always print off as well, just in case.
You never know when you might lose your phone.

Oh yes. 5 years ago we went to America and the ESTA form for one of my teenagers didn’t show up on the computer system. I had a printout to show we had it - the woman behind the desk was visibly relieved.

Although we went to the theatre this week, everyone’s waving their phones with tickets and covid passes and there’s me with all my bits of paper, feeling like a dinosaur.

I went to Croatia in September and joined a queue to get in with lots of people with sheafs of paper. The smaller queue had a couple at the front with a phone. We watched as they spent the next 10 minutes obviously trying to get various apps to.load. we were through and they were still there all hot and flustered.

If you have access to a printer it’s definitively a good idea, even just as a backup. However not everyone does. If you do have everything on your phone make sure it’s fully charged and you have all necessary apps or websites open well before you get to the gate, where reception might be bad or the airport wifi signal weak.

Yes. Or take screenshots of everything so they're all in your gallery.
