Central London: know any crawler/toddler-friendly meet-up places?

A few of us on the multicultural families board are trying to arrange a central London meet-up - not necessarily a meal, just somewhere we can have a chat where our little ones won't have to be held or strapped into a chair the whole time.

Any suggestions?

the great court at the british museum? free entry, big space under glass roof, there's a cafe

What a gap in the market, isn't it. If they were bit bigger - early school age - Blue Kangaroo would probably be good - nice food for grown-ups, separate soft play bit - or Bramleys in W10, though that's a bit rougher round the edges. Neither's really suited to crawlers or little toddlers, though.

Was in Edinburgh last week and Clambers at the Commonwealth Pool is brilliant - perfectly OK cafe, loads of spaced out tables with room for pushchairs or crawling, massive soft play installation for the bigger ones. That's exactly what you want.

Maybe Diana Memorial Playground (not the fountain) well wrapped up against the cold?

Thanks both of you! And the Edinburgh tip will be useful when we stay with DD's grandparents!

Yes they're really useful - thanks bp & binkie
