Is Kerrymum around or does anyone else know how big is Caherciveen?

.. and does it have a big supermarket?

It's cold and wet and rainy here, so we're planning our itinerary for the summer hols!

Need to know whether we need to plan to detour via Killarney to get week's groceries for our self-catering cottage, or whether we will be able to get all we need at Caherciveen.

Ta,
Rx

LOL roisin! No idea about Cahirciveen but we spent a week in Dingle last summer and it was "cold and wet and rainy"!

Thanks.
Whereabouts are you in Kerry anyway? We are having a couple of nights in Dingle and a week in a cottage near Portmagee - right at the end of the Ring of Kerry. We did stay there 5.5 yrs ago, but I'm a bit nervous as to how 'busy' everything will feel. In the past we've been to Ireland in September and March!

Are the Sunday trading laws stricter than here? Will Tesco in Killarney be open on a Sunday?

Last time we were in Cahirsiveen there was DEFINITELY no Teascos - althought there were little local shops. Killarney and Tralee are both bigger and will have supermarkets.

Don't miss Dingle off your itinerary - touristy but lovely.

Sorry just noticed you haven't missed Dingle!

I am technically on fb - same name as here - I rarely use it, but will get your message that way!
