Child passport - question about form!

I'm currently completing a child passport renewal form for DD, and I have to put down my details in section 4 and DH's as we are her parents. On the form it states that as I was born after 1983, I need to give MY parents full details in Section 8 ( this seems a bit ridiculous to me) but then in the guidance booklet provided with the form, it says the passport office only require's the grandparents details if BOTH parents were born after 1983, DH was born Pre 1983. Can anyone help clarify this for me please! Thank you.

As ots a renewal you just need the form, photo and the old passport. You don't need to provide birth certificates or grandparents details. If you have given your own passport number than that's their proof of british citizenship
