Covid & the Caribbean

Had booked to go to Grenada during the October half term. Cases have since sky rocketed and everything has been shut down there. Looked at other Caribbean islands and they are all similar. Increasing cases and worsening restrictions on freedoms.

Now I’m trying to guess if I should cancel and book somewhere like the Maldives or stick

We've just had our Caribbean cruise in December cancelled. We have a 10yo and they've announced that under 18's now need to be vaccinated which obviously isn't happening any time soon so in effect it's not happening now. It's shit! We're going to push it back to December 2022 when hopefully things will be more normal (please God!) looking at blogs of cruise experts I follow on Instagram apparently they aren't allowing people to explore the islands etc and there are all kinds of restrictions in place (this is cruising I'm talking about though, I've no idea about what happens in a resort) - but with all the red tape at the moment, PCR tests 3 days before leaving and returning etc I just don't think it would have been worth all that money at the moment anyway.
