Hi,

I wondered if anyone could help please. I have looked at the foreign office website but it’s so complicated to work out where we can go abroad. Looking to go in October half term for 5 nights European city break. Is that possible or not allowed due to small number of nights? I am double vaccinated and my daughter is 14 and might have had one jab by then. It’s so complicated. I think we are not allowed in France but can’t work out the rules. Any help would be really appreciated.

Thank you

We’re going to France for half term, and didn’t see any problem regarding length of stay. Don’t let that worry you. It’s just tricky working out when to test to return, but if you’re in England I think that will be simpler by then anyway.
Re: your daughter. Single jab won’t count as anything, so just look at rules for unvaccinated child travelling with vaccinated adult 👍

Spain might be easier- or at least I know the rules. Single vaccinated DS15 will need a PCR taken within 72 hrs of departure, then as it's post Oct 4th and DH and I are vaccinated we just need a home PCR booked for Day 2 of coming back.

Spanish rules - as indeed any countries- may change before departure.

Why go abroad? Why not do a city break in Edinburgh or Liverpool? Lots to see and do.

If vaccinated it's ok and kids accompanying vaccinated adults are ok too!
Not sure about the weather!

Madeira - no tests if double jabbed and pretty sure under 18s have parents status. Funchal is great.
