LFD tests via Qured

Hi has anybody used Qured for the rapid antigen test to return to UK? They post the kit out to you and you take it with you. Take a photo of your result and they send you a certificate as evidence.
They are on the Gov.Uk recommended list for day 2 tests. Just wondered how reliable they are. I'd prefer to do it that way than find a clinic when I'm abroad.

We used them, it was easier than I anticipated. I would recommend them.

We used them, it was fine. DH’s certificate took a lot longer to come back than mine and we did have to chase it which was a bit nerve wracking but it appeared in the end.

We used someone else for the day 2 tests so can’t comment on that

I couldn't get slots at a convenient time from 14 days out and found it all quite stressful TBH. In the end I cancelled and found somewhere locally. They did refund me though.

minipie · 21/09/2021 15:10

Oh yes true, it was hard to get video slots at the right time. We had to keep checking back.

we've tried them twice and both times the appointment was delayed due to "technical problems". I had to phone the first time and was just about to phone the second time (after 30 minutes) when I got through.

I then had a very stressful time attempting to download the image onto their website from my phone - first time I just emailed a photo. It wouldn't download and the woman I spoke to in the call centre, barely spoke English.

I wasn't very impressed.

Thanks all. The website gives the impression that you don't need to do a video call. I assume you upload a photo of your test result. is that what you did? @minipie @ImSoMagical

You do need a video call, we did it on our phones. You get a link via email, you click on 10 minutes before appointment time to go into a 'waiting room'. An advisor talks through every step and watches while you take the test. You then have to upload a pic of your test within 20 minutes. We got our 'all clear' certificates within half an hour. The only thing I would say is there are more than 1 person doing the test don't book consecutive appointments in case anyone needs help 😁

minipie · 22/09/2021 13:51

Yes we did a video call. They watch you do the test via video call, call ends, you then wait the 15 minutes for test to develop fully, photograph the test and email it to them, they check it and email a certificate.

We used them when back from a recent holiday to Greece. Only for our day 2 tests. Really easy to do and stuck them in a priority postbox on Saturday 11am and had our results sent back to us via text and email on Tuesday evening. No video required.

Mamamia35 · 22/09/2021 16:06

Thanks for coming back. Their site says the tests are £22 and you can opt to pay £10 for a video call. Gosh this is all quite stressful. Just want to have a relaxing holiday and some sun!

Just be careful of any specific rules re a test being supervised or not. I have to say I am staggered that people are allowed to do tests unsupervised. Completely pointless. Anyone could be doing the test.

I used Qured and they had technical problems too when I did last Thursday afternoon. Then had a bit of a panic trying to upload my photos (you only have 15 mins to do it otherwise the test is void.)

Am now on holiday and have to do the whole thing again in another country. They messed up my order too and I complained. They then told me to reorder and said they would refund me but when I get home I will check...They then sent me 2 PCR tests in error. Will do my return tests tomorrow and will make a big fuss as SOMEONE is making an awful lot of money out of this.

Have you booked a package hol? We went with Mark Warner and they were great at explaining on the phone what was needed and all of the covid requirements.
