How long are first passports taking at the mo?

Has anyone applied for baby's first passport recently? How long did it take to come through?

Hoping to go away in October but don't dare book without DS's passport in hand.

The passport office website says average is 5 weeks at the moment

We’re 2 weeks in to a renewal application awaiting them updating that documents received (docs show signed for 6 days ago, Peterborough office). Stressing already!

Would love to hear some good news updates on recent applications

Have you had their photo verified online yet? From the day the person verified my DS photo online it took 4.5 weeks to arrive this was Aug/Sept

Sorry my previous post was for a first passport. 4.5 weeks from identity documents received to receiving it. Also did a recent renewal that was quicker. I just looked back on the tracking info and it says identity documents received on 29th Aug and passport printed and sent on 1st sept, so we got it a few days after the 1st sept

Applied for DS online on the 6th August it arrived 8th September.
