Dolomites

Am I asking too much? We would love to visit the Dolomites next summer as we are keen on hiking and mountain scenery. Looking for a self catering accommodation to sleep at least 6 that has access to a pool that doesn’t cost an absolute fortune! Anyone with any recommendations? Would be most grateful!

Hire a motorhome?

I say this as we visited a few years ago (in our own MH). It was amazing. We had a lovely journey down through Germany and Austria into Italy. So we got a fair few other Parks in too en route including the Tyrol. Having the van meant we got to travel around within the Dolomites rather than being limited to one area. We managed to find free sostas (areas specifically set aside for motorhomes to stay, fill up water tanks, empty toilet and ditch grey waste). We had to pay for the one at Bormio (Stelvio) but it was only €5 a night. We cycle, run and walk so having (or hiring) a van suits us as we like to properly explore.

Thanks for reply! Could I ask what month you were there? Would school summer holidays require pre booking all campsites? Difficult to know how long you want to stay til you get there?
