October Half Term Sun Holiday (no kids!) help me decide

The ONLY time I can book is the half term which isn't ideal but there you go. We want a sun holiday (25° is fine!), all inclusive and adults only. 7-10 nights. Budget £2000 for us both.

Anyone have any bright ideas? I was thinking canaries but open to other places.

Thank you!

We've booked Cala d'Or in Mallorca for October half term - we went a few years ago at the same time and the weather was lovely, plus as it's near the end of the season the hotel was nice and quiet! Tui have a number of adults-only hotels there.

Might be a bit too hot but thought about Dubai? You’re guaranteed 25° weather there in October but very hot

Thanks @littleredsky I'll take a look.

Thanks @Hairbrush123 but Dubai's not really for us.

Have a look at Antalya in Turkey and Hurghada in Egypt as well, you might get the odd thunderstorm in the afternoon but apart from that the weather is great Smile

While I love Mallorca, and would definitely go in October, it’s not necessarily going to be the hot holiday you want.

I’ve been during half term a couple of times. Once, near Alcudia, it was very pleasant and sunny, but it wasn’t reliably warm all day. We were in jeans and pullovers during most evenings, and it was far too cold to go in the pool.

Another time on the south coast it was warmer, and I did go in the pool a couple of times, and walking on the cliff tops was very hot, but the evenings were cool (which is good for sleeping at least!).

I think Portugal (Algarve) and southern Spain is reliably warmer at that time of year, but I guess that could just be luck. The Canaries are much more likely to be hot, hot, hot! Or what about Malta?

Thanks we were set on the canaries but now flirting with the idea of the Caribbean!

We’ve booked Cyprus for then, hoping for sun, it looks warmer than other bits of Europe.

Another suggestion is Marrakech - lots of lovely boutique riads.

Cape Verde would also fit the bill, as would Egypt. Morocco and Tunisia might be warm enough but wouldn’t think anywhere else in the Med would be. Dubai will work out too expensive as AI isn’t really a thing. You could just get to the Caribbean for a grand but would be risking catching end of hurricane season. If you could go the first week of Nov then I’d go to Jordan with easyJet - wonderful holiday.

Cyprus?

sleepykits · 19/09/2021 22:14

We almost booked Cyprus but have been a few times so are trying Canaries. Lovely adults only all inclusive Smile

I think short haul the canaries is most reliable to be hot at that time of year. We’re looking at first week of November for Tenerife or Gran Canaria.

I’ve been to southern Spain and Cyprus at that time of year previously and while you might get lucky of course neither had the reliable warmth I was looking for.

Oh just caught up sorry OP! Good choice!
