Lindos tips please

Any tips please mumsnetters? Not been before! Going for a week next week. Probably won't hire a car, so thinking of 1 or 2 places we can get to on bus etc (is it worth going to Pefki for a trip?) or things to do/places to eat in Lindos itself? Thanks!

I love Lindos - got married there many moons ago and have been several times. I wouldn't bother with Pefkos for a trip unless you've got your heart set on watching the sunset, which isn't as spectacular in Lindos. Rhodes Town is worth a trip, and I liked Prasonisi and Monolithos in the south, but to be quite honest pottering round all the little shops/bars/cafes in Lindos and chilling on the various beaches would be fine for a week. We're due to return next year for a thrice postponed holiday - wish us luck! Hope you have a lovely time

Sorry, just realised that I think only Rhodes Town is possible on public transport of the trips I mentioned!

Thanks. Had a great time, just stayed put in Lindos and chilled. What an amazing place. Hope you get back there soon!

I love Lindos, only downside was seeing these poor donkeys walking up those steep hilly streets with people on.
One guy was really over weight and the donkey was clearly struggling, told him to get off and walk as it might do him good, he got really upset (glad he did) and aggressive, luckily my large husband wasn't too far away.

Our favourite bits -
  1. we did a boat trip from St Paul's bay (15 euros each for a 1 hour trip) which was great. There's a sign up at the bay with details or his number is +30 693 709 5282.
  2. we took snorkels with us and snorkelled every day either at the main beach or St Paul's bay. At the latter you can swim out to sea via a gap in the cliffs and also round to a cave with pink rocks - ask Dimitri at Dimitri's cafe on the bay (gorgeous spot) - he told us about it.
  3. having a drink at the 'Courtyard bar' which has the BEST views of all the rooftops, totally magical. Also 'Lindos by night' v chilled bar.
  4. we swam at the main beach one night in the full moon, gorgeous.
  5. fave restaurants were the Acropolis & Dionysos. Melia is a lovely cafe for breakfast and lunch, we'd go there after an early swim at St Paul's bay as it's that side of town.
ENJOY!

The donkeys there put me off going back, it was the cruelest thing I've seen for a long time.

Rhodes is a lovely island though.
