Hi all, just wondering has anyone stayed in Santanyi Majorca? What were your thoughts, would it be suitable for a family holiday?

We've been to that area for a day trip. It's beautiful, authenticly Spanish/Mallorquin and very quiet. We drove through the town at siesta time and everything was shut and no-one was around. It would be the ideal place to hire a villa with a pool, get a load of food and drink in, and laze around doing very little apart from maybe a couple of trips out.

The little cove beaches are amazing for swimming, snorkelling, relaxing and admiring the view. We might not have been to Cala Santanyi, but we've definitely been to the adjacent Cala Llombards and the nearby Cala Mondrago and S'Amador beaches.

The latter two often feature in those 'top 10 secret beaches you have to visit' and as such get very crowded. Looking at Cala Santanyi on google earth, it does look like there's a few more restaurants, but still small and quiet.

Cala Llombards beach bar clearly traded on the fact that it was the only source of food and drink for miles around if you hadn't brought your own, so cans of beer were 5 euro each and if we'd have wanted a second one and lunch, we'd have said goodbye to about 80 euro for the two of us.

Aww it sounds dreamy but maybe a bit to quiet for my teenagers!! Honestly going on holiday when they have left home is going to be much easier !!!
