EachandEveryone · 01/09/2021 17:27
In that she doesnt want any walking involved so it must be within walkable distance to shops/music. Honestly you would think someone offering to pay to take 8 of us away would be a good thing but its hard work for me having to do the donkey work. Its for next August. Anywhere as long as there are frequent flights. Help!

a caravan park with a caravan for her and one for you?
have a look at eurocamp.

Also Tui and Jet2 Hols do villas.
Good luck!

Apparently TUI had nothing for next year. You see she wont go further than Manchester airport either. Normally does cruises or all incl with her fella. Every year she says that she will treat us all and every year left we take it with a pinch of salt. This time she seems more insistent and of course muggins here has been left with the arranging.

I’m not sure I understand your requirements. She doesn’t want to walk but it has to be walking distance of shops/ music? Do you mean you want to stay at a resort with shops and entertainment on site? What’s your budget? Have you narrowed it down to a particular country at least?

Not villas but apartments (one each floor so could book two apartments and being in the same "cottage")
I think you'll struggle to find many villas in walking distance to a town. Most are out in the sticks of towns.

Just remembered but albufiera in Portugal does have villas that are walking distance to the town.
You want to be near the "old town" ideally. Lovely pedestrianised town with bars, restaurants and clubs, plus beach nearby. Often has people singing songs in guitars on the square for some mood.
Although depending on ages and interest the strip is a taxi ride away and much more lively.

I dont think shes bothered where but she does like entertainment. Not the kind of entertainment we would like but you know some sixties music!
Legoisaws8om · 01/09/2021 18:35
I would recommend albufeira. They had some bars with music catered to all generations. Harry's bar is one I still remember the name of 10 years later. We have been there many years as multi generational families from 18 year olds to 60 year olds :)

Stop looking. If your mother is so fussy - let her chose. You are setting yourself up for criticism and failure. No holiday is worth it.

Another area to consider is Nerja in Spain. DMIL loved it when we went. You can get a villa on here //www.Spain-holidays.com - we use them and are returning for 3rd time to a Villa, in a more remote area, but we have rented in Nerja. You can filter by sea view, walk to town, air conditioning etc do you are not ploughing through each description.
I would also suggest Estoril in Portugal - again, DMIL loved it - we have holidayed away a few times with her 😱 or Cascais. Cascais is much more upmarket but flat and easy to walk to from a villa. You can get a 20 minute train to Lisbon for days out.

Spain is your best bet, get a hotel/apartment in a complex with entertainment, tacky it may be but it will tick the boxes. Tons of flights and choose two separate apartments for your own sanity!

We have this booked for next year. Sleeps 8, 250m or less to beach, shops and restaurants.
gogohm · 01/09/2021 19:06
Or Portugal might work but costs more usually. If you give a rough budget someone might be able to give you more specifics, when I last went it was £600 pp ai (2018) my parents loved it

We stayed here in Lanzarote. Supermarket over the road, beach, marina, restaurants etc about 5 mins walk away. There was at least one nice little bar in the marina with live music on. Loads of flights from Manchester.
Villas are 2/3 bedrooms, so you'll need at least two, which might be a good thing as you can get some space from her if you need to .
