passport expiry date?

My trios passport expires next Oct, we are off to Holland in May, only someone told me you should have at least 6 months on your passport, is that true?

no, don't worry if you're travelling to Holland.

it does apply to some countries - for instance a country that requires you to have a visa may require you to have six months left on your passport.

EU countries and some others are ok until expiry.

and if you are travelling within this country you can use it (as photo id) for 2 years after it has expirred
