We stayed at The Table Bay which was great.

We stayed at the AHA Harbour Bridge - it's a short canal trip to the V&A Waterfront or you can get an Uber for about £1.50. I really recommend it - within walking distance of the centre of Cape Town as well.

We used this

When travelling around South Africa.

We rented an apartment via Hotels.com from this company:

We had a splurge and spent a couple of nights at the Cape Grace. It was fabulous.

Are you U.K. citizens?

South Africa is still on the red list so U.K. citizens need to quarantine in a hotel upon arrival in the U.K. for 10 days at your own expense.

Trixiebell06 · 29/08/2021 20:23

Thankyou all so much , Thedogsmother the Cape Grace looked beautiful but way over our budget
We are in the Uk but are planning for next year if it goes ahead . We had booked for this year but it was cancelled due to covid. A few of the hotels we had planned are booked up already .

We booked with a South African agent and he told us that the Table Bay was as good as The Cape Grace without the tourist premium and we thought that was true.

Twilightstarbright · 31/08/2021 08:19

We stayed here and walked to the waterfront. Would highly recommend, we had toddler DS so wanted a separate bedroom and kitchen facilities. apartments

Franklin12 · 02/09/2021 19:46

We stayed at Waterfront village. Great choice, free parking, walkable to Waterfront Centre and apartment living. Dishwasher, washing machine etc. Highly recommend. The Cape Grace - you could be in any 5 star hotel in the world so in my view not worth the splurge

Table Bay is lovely.

Not on the waterfront, but Dunkley House is just gorgeous, we stay there every time we go to Cape Town.

Stroller15 · 02/09/2021 19:50

I stayed at the Radisson Red at the V&A - jazzy interior but amazing location and views.

Silkiescatz · 03/09/2021 00:39

Not on waterfront but we stayed at the Vineyard Hotel which had views of Table Mountain, swimming pool and tropical gardens with turtles and amazing breakfasts.

underneaththeash · 03/09/2021 21:53

We stayed at Cape Grace too. Lovely hotel.

westr · 05/09/2021 18:46

Also recommend table bay

Jerseygirl12 · 05/09/2021 19:06

I love Table Bay.

Georgyporky · 05/09/2021 19:18

A word of caution.

We were on a multi-destination package holiday, & stayed at a luxury hotel.
However, we were told not to walk to the V&A as it was through a dangerous area. The hotel had a free minibus, & taxis were cheap anyway.

underneaththeash · 05/09/2021 20:15

@Georgyporky I agree, much better to stay in V&A
