Where is good (and fairly close) to go after Christmas?

Thinking of booking an abroad holiday for the week after Christmas.
Not bothered about sun (or snow) but would like something to do that isn’t shopping-outdoor activities/animals or something.
Preferably a short flight and fairly easy transfers.
Kids are 8 and 11.

Lots to do on Lanzarote, (land and watersports, volcano, caves, arty stuff) weather should be good, and if you're planning to be there on evening of 5th January, all the towns have a three kings parade, which is really worth experiencing.
