Anyone flown Ryanair - EU from East Midlands recently?

I am flying to France tomorrow and on checking in I notice that Ryanair say "passengers on this booking who are travelling with non-EU ID documents will be required to print their boarding pass and present it at the checkin desk to have their documents checked and stamped upon arrival at the airport"

So this is me with my UK passport. Is this true?!?

I’m flying tomorrow with them from there to another EU destination and don’t have that? Have got a warning that the boarding gate screens aren’t working though.

It came up at some point during the check-in process, then I searched around their site and found it again.

I always print boarding passes anyway. Just in case

But I infer from this that we need to go to the check-in desk, even though I've checked in online and have no bags to drop...
