I always forget my pyjamas. I have also gone away with only black underwear when I have also packed thin white tops/trousers.
BikeRunSki · 20/08/2021 17:22
I once forgot my bag.
Had everything for the DCs, who were, quite honestly old enough to have packed for themselves.
Was only going elsewhere in UK. Realised when we stopped at a services.
Did an emergency Next order overnight!

I always say as long as you have the following, nothing else matters:
- phone charger
- phone
- passport
- bank cards
- any medication
- passport
- anything that your kids absolutely wouldn’t cope without eg a special teddy
Hardchoices · 20/08/2021 17:27

Ladyrattles · 20/08/2021 17:47
We once forgot family tickets to a theme park as we swapped which rucksack we were taking.
Mammma91 · 20/08/2021 18:20
Please take an extra phone charger.
In amongst unpacking.
My partner stood on mine. Crunched and was knackered.
Paid nearly £30 for an iPhone charger! I was absolutely seething. Couldn’t find one anywhere else for cheaper 🤮.
Pissinthepottyplease · 20/08/2021 20:55
I have all that thanks except antihistamine- I will ask DH if he wants them.
@Passthecake30 I have packed pjs although I don’t normally wear them and the kids don’t mind.
StarttoFinish · 20/08/2021 20:59
This is my embassassig secret, but I have a typed holiday packing list that I print off each time we're going away. I makes life just so unimaginably easier.
Depending on the kind of holiday, some items, like hats and gloves in summer ulness you're going to the Lake District can be crossed off straight away, so that's a nice quick win
endofthelinefinally · 20/08/2021 21:04
Really important to send that information to a friend or family member and ensure that your insurers have documented that person as a trusted contact.
TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 20/08/2021 21:04
@emmathedilemma
Oh my Lord. You forget a lot, don't you?
myrtilles · 20/08/2021 23:45
mozzy bite cream and repellent.
Road map of the country you are going to if you are doing any driving.
Euros - we realised at the last minute we didn't have much foreign currency not having been abroad for a while.
Also only remembered EHIC cards at the last minute
GiantCheeseMonster · 20/08/2021 23:52
DH once forgot his driving licence when we’d hired a car to collect at the airport and he’d need to show it on pick-up. He realised on the plane. We couldn’t think what to do so we told them he’d had his wallet stolen at the airport, with the licence in it. God knows how we got away with it but we did.
Thewolvesarerunningagain · 21/08/2021 00:08
We have forgotten my DDs kiddizoom and my DSs kite. We’re in Wales. This is apparently a disaster
elbo7 · 21/08/2021 00:23
Contact lenses
Any prescription medication
Passports
Driving licence if hiring a car.
Most other things are available at the airport or hotel or nearest town etc.
