Luggage allowance on codeshare - help!

We are travelling to Ireland later this week - BA cancelled our flight and booked us on a codeshare flight with Aer Lingus. Didn’t think much about it until tried to check Aer Lingus luggage allowance and found out it is dependent on the fare we booked! Since we booked with BA (with a checked bag allowance) we have no idea and can’t access our booking on the Aer Lingus website (it doesn’t recognise our BA booking ref). Tried to call Aer Lingus multiple times but can’t get thru. We aren’t carrying an excessive amount- 1 med suitcase, 1 small backpack for hand luggage with stuff to entertain DC at airport mainly (Aer Lingus website says only a handbag or personal item unless you pay in advance which we can’t) and a car seat. Worried about getting stung with big fees at airport. Anyone have experience of this? Thanks!

Ask BA?

Can’t get through to BA either.

I reckon you'll be ok because you've booked the one journey with BA, so I'd expect Aer Lingus to check your bags all the way through and honour the luggage allowance for the international flight. But my opinion won't help you at the airport!
Have you tried tweeting either BA or AL?

It's only happened to me once and I had to use the allowance of the equivalent of AL for you. Could you find out their worst level of allowance and work to that?

Or try Twitter?
