Filling out Spanish passenger locator form - what am I doing wrong?
Rollergirl11 · 15/08/2021 14:07
I am trying to add my NHS Covid vaccine certificate. I select EU COVID Digital certificate option and I upload my electronic copy of the NHS file but when I hit the Validate certificate button I get an error saying my certificate is not valid for travel to Spain.
Am I doing something wrong?

It's not an EU certificate, that's why. We are not in the EU. You need to tick 'other'
Caligal · 15/08/2021 14:10
You don’t need to attach it, it won’t accept it, choose other and it will ask you for the info and verify it

Probably to do with Brexit and the EU. No idea what you do if you are an EU citzen living in UK

Thanks, I must seem completely dim! I was just panicking that I wasn’t going to receive the QR code if I wasn’t able to upload the forms.
So do we have to show the physical copies of the vaccine cert/fit to fly certs or is the QR code that I’ve downloaded from the SPL form enough for them?

Take all paperwork with you - on your phone is fine, but they might need you to show the vax/test certificates at the airport.
EU citizens living in the UK don’t have an EU Digital Covid Certificate, unless they’ve gone through all the process of converting it into one from their home country (almost impossible).
It was the same the other way round, I wanted to come to the UK with my EU vaccines a couple of months back, and the NHS wouldn’t ‘convert’ my EU pass into an UK one. All a nightmare.

We just showed the QR code at the airport - no issue.

Agree about printing out everything. We randomly got asked to show DS1’s PCR test after we had shown the QR codes at immigration so they do check.
Also our hotel wanted to see everyone’s test results or vax records.
Paper was so much easier than faffing with the phone.
