Suggestions for Honeymoon

Let's pretend for a second that there is no pandemic and that travel will be totally back to normal by next June.

I'm looking for ideas for our honeymoon. We'll only have a week, 8 nights at a push, so don't want crazy long haul but I suppose 8-9 hours flying time would be ok.

Ruling out Spain as we've been plenty before, and Italy as we're there the following month for another wedding.

Looking for somewhere romantic, beautiful and relaxing but with a bit to do in terms of culture, wildlife to see etc. Budget is flexible but ideally would come in under £1500 each for a week.

Thanks in advance Smile

Cape Verde is lovely. Especially the new Riu hotel in Santa Maria.

6 hour flight. Friendly community and enough to do for a couple of days out.

A week in Mauritius ought to be doable if you do it with an overnight flight from London or Paris.

Caribbean will be getting a bit humid and you'd have a time difference.

I've not been there for 20+years, but Corsica was lovely.

St Lucia or Mauritius. Both very beautiful and the excursions are good.

Ooo go to Croatia, Dubrovnik is stunning 😍

Corsica or Sardinia

Agree Croatia is beautiful but I've been before and we'd like somewhere new to both of us if possible.

St Lucia is high on the list of maybes now and I'll look into Mauritius.

We saw a great deal for St. Lucia last night and I was already to pay a deposit (refundable if we can't go due to Covid) and then I remembered.... Zika Virus!! We're hoping I'll be pregnant soon after the wedding, if not before, so anywhere with a Zika risk is out the window!

So back to the drawing board Blush

If you're in the early stages of pregnancy you may be feeling nauseous or actually being sick so it's probably a good idea to avoid a long flight for that reason too.
