If someone on your plane tests positive does the whole plane have to isolate?
I’m just wondering how likely it is to happen 😬

On way out, can't happen as everyone needs to be either negative or fully vaccinated depending on destination and there aren't subsequent test at destination until you fly back.

On way back, Day 2 test can force you to self isolate even if your result is negative, if someone else got tested positive.

After 16 Aug, I presume that if you are fully vaccinated, you won't need to self isolate even if someone on plane got tested positive on Day 2 test as long as your result is negative - at least thats my understanding.

Thank you I was wondering about the whole 16th thing too!

I worry if someone falls ill with covid and then they test and they then trace it back to them being on the plane and us having to isolate? Or am I overthinking 🤦🏻‍♀️

I’m not so worried about isolating on return (although fully vaccinated) it’s the whole being abroad that worries me 🙁

That would probably depend on the local government policy on how their track and trace system works. I am yet to see such case being reported this year - I remember this was the case last summer during August holiday rush and some families were told to isolate when other people on the same family got ill (can't remember which country) but this year there seems odd news about being tested positive while abroad and couldn't come back, but never seen any article when some family was told to isolate due to someone on board was tested positive - if it ever happened, someone must have made complaints on media by now.

I also think this would jeopardise their tourism industry so they would need to balance out the risk and economy.
