Sorting out fit to fly PCR/LAMP tests for kids - Collinson/Express Test

I wanted to book LAMP tests for the 2 kids with Collinson at Heathrow at £85 and use an EasyJet discount code. First off I had to create a profile in order to book so I used my details, including passport no and email address, which I wasn’t sure if I should or not. Now it turns out that the lead profile has to be one of the passengers being tested and I don’t need a test! They say I have to create a new profile under the name of first child and add the 2nd child. I have to use a new email address as mine is attached to the other profile under my name that I can’t use!

I am already really pissed off! Also to top it off it looks like they don’t even do LAMP tests at either of the Heathrow sites do would have to go for a rapid PCR which is £95 each.

I can see that Express Test so the LAMP tests at Heathrow. Has anyone used them?

My daughter had a LAMP test at Collinson on Friday - it was £85 from memory and all went smoothly.

Rollergirl11 · 05/08/2021 22:08

Did she have it at Heathrow?

My DCs had LAMPs at Heathrow with Collinson. Agree their registration process is rubbish and doesn't cater for situations where parent is registering for DCs.

We are using c19 test for our 12 year old to fly to Spain - we do them at home

Their website is awful. I can see an option for LAMP tests at Heathrow initially but as soon as you register/log in the options change and LAMP at Heathrow is no longer available. It gives you the rapid PCR at £95 option instead.

Think I might just use Express Test instead and take the hit on not being able to use the discount code.

We didn’t do LAMP tests, but we used Express Test at Heathrow for all our PCR tests. Can’t recommend them enough. Longest wait was 16hrs for PCR.

We used express tests for my teens that required tests, my SIL had used them before. Unfortunately we could only book for Croydon at £80 rather than any of the closer sites such as Heathrow. Kids tested 12.30 Wednesday got the results by 10pm Thursday as promised

Was hard to book as website was crashing. Couldn’t book 3 tests, was booking 2 and 1 but eventually booked 3 individual appointments

I used express test for my son's pcr. Super organised quick and easy. Results came exactly when they were supposed to. As others have said, i would highly recommend.

@Rollergirl11 maybe it's changed. My DCs had their tests over 2 weeks ago and they had loads of LAMP appts available. You have to choose the fit to fly option, don't know if that makes a difference.

We got our results in under an hour, before we got home, so as soon as we were in the door we started packing!

I would have been a nervous wreck if we had to wait hours for the results and I wouldn't have started packing until we got there them.

But if LAMP isn't available there's nothing you can do.

When we did the one for my daughter, the Terminal 5 option didn't give any appointments but the Heathrow Park and Ride ones did.
