Child passport renewal

Hi, please don’t shoot me down, yes I know I should have renewed weeks ago. Anyone renewed their child’s passport recently. We travel in 2 weeks and I sent off the renewal a week ago. I had confirmation that they’ve received the application and his old passport last week, any idea how long it takes from this point. The internet is saying up to 10 weeks, but I’m hoping this is worst case situation .
A day trip to Liverpool isn’t the end of the world! 🤦‍♀️

Unfortunately I don’t think you can get a child’s passport fast tracked st a passport office so going to Liverpool may not be an option.
Fingers crossed it arrives in time

I did my children’s a couple months ago, it was processed the same day it arrived and sent to me in a few days

My DSs one was received back in 11 days from applying. I applied online and did it all online and this was within the last month

I got mine within a week

Just under 3 weeks. There is a website where people track the average time. I have a feeling it’s just over 3 weeks.

These comments are very reassuring, thanks. I haven’t mentioned to either husband or son that it had expired, hopefully they’ll never know!

A day trip to Liverpool isnt possible - you no longer have the old passport, and they arent about to dig through the mountain of passports to find yours.
DS1s took just over a week from submitting the form to receiving the new passport (several more weeks to get the old one back) at the end of last month.
We didnt get any updates after the old passport received message. Next thing we knew the (blue, that shouldnt have suprised me, but it did) passport was on the doorstep.
