Anyone been on a P and O cruise?

Never considered a cruise before but been having a browse online and thinking ahead for June / July 2022. (If the world functions in any way normally by then- who knows!)

Two dc - will be 10 and 18 and dh and I. I have multiple health issues which are normally well controlled with medication but I like the idea of having the medical centre on board (that’s what started me off looking- although reading the stuff obviously I’d have to have amazing insurance and be prepared to pay up front and then claim back if necessary)?

Any tips / experiences welcome.

We’ve been on 8 P&O cruises, they suited us as a family really well. On our first my DC were 14 and 17. Both could go to kids club, but only the younger one did, he was virtually in there the whole time on the ship, apart from when we went on excursions off the ship. We’ve never needed to use the medical facilities, but understand there is a whole team. You have to have adequate insurance booked with 2 million cover for repatriation (should you need to be airlifted from ship to hospital), but when you book insurance, you tick cruise and this will be covered. We took my FIL on 2 cruises and he had multiple medical conditions, but found insurance that covered him. Because cruises are easily accessible you will see lots of wheelchairs users. To be able to use these, you have to book an adapted cabin, specifically for this. These cabins get sold out really quick.

I haven’t been on a P&O cruise but have taken my DC on 11 cruises from the ages of 9 and 10 until
21 and 22. Cruises are great family holidays. The medical centres are really good, my DC has epilepsy and knowing the Center was there really eased our minds. There are usually different physical ability excursions so you can pick whatever your feel comfortable doing.

Thank you so much for both your replies.
Lots to think about!
