Procrastinating so much - to go or not to go

I have x3 children the youngest is 3.

We have taken off last two weeks of august to get a last minute abroad.

I am already feeling anxious that someone on the plane may have it and we have to spend our whole holiday in isolation.

I go from let's go it will be fine .. tk visualising us all stuck in a hotel room.

Not sure why I am posting this but need to make decisions soon!!

I just think there are too many potential things to go wrong if you go abroad at the minute that it's not worth the risk (especially if you're travelling with young children) and the stress of it all would wipe out any fun/relaxation that's the point of going on holiday.

We have booked a few nights away about an hours drive from home. The change of scenery, getting out for a few meals etc and hopefully lack of stress, will hopefully recharge the batteries.

We've booked the canaries for next week.

We've booked a smaller island with very low Covid rates. Hoping that rates here would have fallen further, and the plane is smaller. Have taken the following 10 days off work after the holiday.

Now looking to see how we could possibly reduce our risk of Covid from the flights.
I do actually have a fit tested ffp3 I can take but not sure how that will go down.

I'm not fussed but my DH is adamant he wants to go. All vaccinated of course.

I'm climbing the walls to go, booked for Istanbul in September and it's still on the flaming red list 😭 But then I've been pretty gung ho about the whole thing from the start. If you're going to stress the whole holiday, it won't be much of a holiday, and is probably not worth the bother.

We just got back from 10 nights in Majorca. I was quite stressed beforehand about all the 'what ifs'.

Majorca don't do testing on arrival unlike Greece so I felt there was minimal chance of being quarantined from the flight.

Whilst in the resort it was very unlikely we could have caught anything as the hotel was not full, lots of space around the pool and on the beach. We ate most meals outdoors and didn't mix with anyone else.

So again I was confident we wouldn't be positive on the test to return.

We now have to do the day 2 test and I'm sure we'll be negative. But if we do have to quarantine now I'm not bothered as we're home and have had our holiday.
