16 yr old DS needs to get to Germany soon.

He has has Covid...GP is drafting me a letter to prove he is recovered

We will do a pcr test so will have a certificate

He will stay at home for 14 days prior to flying

BUT they wont let him in because he's not vaccinated!!!! Spoke to German Embassy and Border today.

GP wont vaccinate as only 16 and no underying conditions

So as he's going for sport trial/to play (classed as Elite) last attempt is to email border police at Munich and detail why he needs to travel, attach letter from sports club. It can take around 7-10days.

If he cant go it will shatter him

There have been a few posters with elite sports exemptions. Not sure if Germany though.
Every country will require something different I suppose. Can't you ask the sport club to hurry it up? Surely it's in their interests he goes?

That is interesting. As far as I am aware, a 72h PCR test is sufficient for non vaccinated people and that then they need to isolate for 10 days, but can do a PCR test after five and leave isolation.

The police is not involved, but the health department (Gesundheitsamt) of the town/Bundesland your son goes to. Is it Munich/Bavaria?

I checked going via Eurostar and then only the PCR tests and filling in the Einreiseformular was needed for Belgium and Germany.
How is he planning to travel? Maybe it is easier with an airplane?

I had read all the blurb on the German Gov Site and the UK one and though ah ok if he has the PCR test and letter from his GP and club letter then all will be ok.

On the off chance I spoke to the Embassy AND the Munich Border and both said he will NOT be allowed in without being vaccinated. I have to apply/email to get a letter of acceptance.

It's the chance you take and Im not chancing it!!!

Trying to get the letter from the sports club so I can email
