Collinson pre return test - supervised or unsupervised?

Has anyone taken the unsupervised antigen test before returning to UK and was it accepted? You just submit a photo of the test and your proof of identification.
We are staying at a remote place with no wifi and patchy mobile data so I'm a bit stressed about the zoom test at set time.

I have Collinson booked. They keep sending reminders but no video link yet. It is tomorrow pm. Does anyone know how you link up? It is a few hours wait on the chat.

Chronomics do rapid antigen pre-return tests that don’t have video supervision. It seems totally illogical but lots of people have used them successfully (they supply TUI and also recommended by BA). No wifi needed!

Are unsupervised tests really ok to use?? Would save us a lot of bother!!

Ma83 · 28/07/2021 09:52

We have ordered ours from here www.c19testing.co.uk/rapidtravel/
I spent hours on various facebook travel advice groups and unsupervised tests are definitely ok to use.

Hi there. We find ourselves in the same position. We have tests booked for tomorrow and I've had 3 separate reminder emails with no Zoom link.

I was fortunate enough to get a response from their chat to say we would be sent a link though.

Did you get your link through on the day?

Theredjellybean · 03/08/2021 20:42

We used chronomics... No problem at all

LittleRen · 03/08/2021 20:44

Our tests have arrived from Chronomics and I ordered back ups from c19 just incase anything goes wrong - all arrived in plenty of time.

Rosemary5 · 03/08/2021 21:20

Is this true? Surely not as how do they know who’s doing the test?

LittleRen · 03/08/2021 21:37

@Rosemary5 it’s true tons of places offer it. The tui tests are unsupervised

AG84 · 06/08/2021 07:38

Hello yes they are accepted. We've used them to return from Malta. Just last week. It's super easy. You do the test, take the pics and email over and the results are returned really quickly key (we had ours within 20 minutes) the certificate collinsins provide are accepted to return to the UK. Hope that helps .

AG84 · 06/08/2021 07:39

Yes they are definitely accepted.. we used them (collinsons group) to fly back from Malta last week super easy.

Mumgori · 18/08/2021 18:10

@usainholt can I ask when you got the link through from Collinsons? We are in same boat, the video call is tomorrow afternoon but still no link and getting a little stressed about it!

ellaballoo · 20/08/2021 19:40

I did an unsupervised Collinson test on Monday .
Got a couple of emails and texts in the run up to the time they wanted me to submit it .
The result certificate came through in 10 minutes .

Delatron · 23/08/2021 08:11

They are accepted. We used C:19. You get a fit to fly certificate and they are an accredited company. The airline just need to see a fit to fly certificate by a government approved supplier. So the process is unimportant.

I’m guessing all the fit to fly certificates look the same. Whether you went to the doctor/ were watched on a Zoom call or uploaded result yourself. So we did the one that was most convenient (upload yourself). We had the certificate within half an hour and that was at 8.30pm at night...

farfallarocks · 23/08/2021 08:14

We did the same, agree it seems crazy I could dip it in water for all they know but I suppose that’s why there is the PCR test day 2 for
All including kids

Delatron · 23/08/2021 08:16

Also I’ve heard stories from friends that the swab taking in some of the pharmacies abroad can be pretty brutal so I’d personally rather just do it in the comfort of my hotel room.

Allegria · 08/09/2021 09:24

Hi can I ask how you managed with video call as we’re also staying in a place with poor Wi-fi (didn’t realise before) and I’m worried about self test video!!

Franklin12 · 08/09/2021 21:01

I am staggered that you can upload just any test done by god knows who....I also heard that people going together are not risking one testing positive (when they have symptoms) so they are getting someone who has just tested negative to do all the tests for the group.

Surely someone is going to step in here. Having said that it does sound much easier!

SweetBabyCheeses99 · 08/09/2021 21:32

What a shambles. It’s like the Emperors New Clothes. Why on earth would anyone actually take the test and risk having to cancel trip and or being stranded. This really is just an outlandish method of politicians redistributing all that magic money they picked off the tree to their mates. And they’re laughing at you all tripping over yourselves to do it.

Ma83 · 09/09/2021 06:28

Allegria, we ended up buying tests from C19testing, which don't require video call. You take a photo of the test next to your passport and get your certificate. As people have pointed out, anyone could have taken the test, it doesn't make any sense.
