How/where to book return to UK tests in Majorca?
4everhopeful · 12/07/2021 23:16
We are going to Majorca in 4 weeks.. I've scoured gov website and easyjet (flight only) but not very clear info! Please can anyone help me with some advice on where/how you get a test in Majorca for returning to the UK?
For departing the UK to majorca DH and I double vaccinated so don't need to test? Kids are 11 and 8 so no need to test either? Or am I wrong? Any advice so gratefully received! Thanks so very much

Don’t even think about it yet. The rules are bound to change.
mumofblueeyes · 12/07/2021 23:38
There is already a Mallorca holiday thread which covers all this. Hope that helps, am currently sat in Mallorca waiting to fly home :(
4everhopeful · 12/07/2021 23:48
Thanks @mumofblueeyes I'll look for it! Have you done your return test? Is the sad face cos you've had a lovely hol and don't want to come home?!
mumofblueeyes · 12/07/2021 23:51
Yes and also because there is an 8 hour delay on our flight. Was due to fly at 8.30pm and now it is going at 3am. With kids in a closed airport = not much fun.
mumofblueeyes · 12/07/2021 23:54
Oh and we used 'Test and Fly' to do our tests on the way home. Antigen. 30 euros each and very long efficient. Ours was in Alcudia but ones all over Mallorca. We did try 'Doctor Mallorca' but they were fully booked.
mumofblueeyes · 12/07/2021 23:55
Sorry for the random word long in that post! But then it is nearly 1am! The other post is called 'Mallorca testing requirements'
EileenGC · 13/07/2021 00:00
Just google the city/town you’re staying in, with the words ‘Covid test’ or ‘prueba Covid’. Make sure to book in advance - eg when you get there - to make sure their slots don’t run out.

We used breathe assured and bought ours in the UK to take with us. We have a video call appointment booked with them the day before we fly home so they can observe us taking the tests and verify the results for flying. I think the tests were £32 each, but that did include a discount from Jet2.
4everhopeful · 13/07/2021 07:50
Thanks so very much for the advice everyone! Very helpful. Been looking at collinson video call test, but debating of easier to do out there?
@mumofblueeyes hope you're now home safe and sound! Delays are terrible! Alcudia is beautiful!
Finally I'm also confused re children criteria? Dd is 11 Ds is 8? Does anyone know exit/entry criteria?
God this is a bizarre new world to navigate!
Abkbjbjb · 13/07/2021 08:50
Following if you don't mind as we are due to go on 7th August!😀

I just got back from Mallorca. I was in Alcudia and used Dr Mallorca (just dropped them a text a couple days before I wanted to do it and they booked me in with my preferred time). Actual process was very quick and easy and €30.
There were several other providers in the area as well (that I saw just from walking around) and my hotel actually provided on site tests every morning (you only had to book 24 hours before, but these were more expensive at €45).
ArabellaPilkington · 16/07/2021 14:54
It's stupidly easy to do over there, and not extortionate either like this country.
Most hotels have mobile doctors visiting daily doing antigen tests. We just used a walk in medical centre opposite our hotel, easy peasy 30 euros, they aren't allowed to charge any more. Antigen test day before we flew back takes 20 mins for results and they give you a certificate.
ArabellaPilkington · 16/07/2021 14:58
Re children criteria
They will need a PCR or LFT before they fly
You need to add them to your Spanish health locator form and get a QR code to show at Palma airport
They will need a LFT like you a day or two before you fly home
You will need to book in for all of you to have PCR tests in the UK within two days of landing
You'll need the booking reference of the Day 2 PCR tests to add to your UK passenger locator form which must be completed a day or two before you fly back
ArabellaPilkington · 16/07/2021 14:59
It sounds like a big old faff and it is a bit - but by God it's worth it !!!
Pootle40 · 16/07/2021 19:19
We used a juanida clinic in puerto pollensa booked under 15minutetest.com or similar. 30 euros results in less than 30 minutes. Think they have them all over the island.
4everhopeful · 17/07/2021 00:33
Thank you so much everyone this has all been really useful and reassuring to definitely do the LFT at a clinic before we fly back. €30 so much better and less faff than £45 and a video call which is what I'd originally thought we'd have to do!
@ArabellaPilkington thanks for such thorough detailed info and clarifying re kids! Really useful points. One thing I just want to check is as we are double vaccinated I was under the impression the kids don't need a pcr on arrival to majorca? (both under 12) or have I got that bit wrong? So hard with the ever changing guidance too!
We go on the 11th and I'm just praying nothing goes wrong between then and now! We orig lost our 2020 booking when Thomas Cook went bust, so rebooked flights and hotel independently, prob for the best as when covid hit, we were able to transfer the flight to this year for no fee, and had booked hotel on fab deal where full balance paid on arrival and zero cancellation fee. So this is our third attempt, and I'm hoping its lucky! 🤞😊
ArabellaPilkington · 17/07/2021 06:44
Oh yes sorry I have teens so they need them before they fly!
Rollergirl11 · 17/07/2021 09:07
How do you obtain the Spanish and UK passenger forms? Are they given to you on the plane?
chocolatesaltyballs22 · 17/07/2021 09:08
@Rollergirl11
They're online. You complete online and download a QR code which is then scanned.
ArabellaPilkington · 17/07/2021 14:02
For Spain get the app Spanish health
For UK it's on gov.uk
