Majorca mid August- cancel or pay villa ?

So we're due to go mid August to Majorca. Balance of villa is due within a few days, if we cancel before then we'll get deposit back and can move Easyjet flights to something else.

If we go - even if it remains Green - we need to pay £500 roughly for tests even though DH and I are double vaccinated, teen DS needs an additional test to enter. And that's best case scenario as what happens if any of the 7 tests we need to take are positive. Oh and DS due to start exam year class two days after we get back so isolation would have a big impact.

Plus it all just seems like a massive faff and worry with all the tests and extra forms and so on.

So seems like a no brainer to cancel, except we're meant to be going with another family who are a lot more gung ho than I and DH is saying how disappointed DS will be with a UK holiday.

Am I just being overly cautious?

500 for tests is nuts !

I should have mentioned we are in Scotland so no option over who to have the Day 2 test with at £88 per person.

I’d cancel-and we have. We are a family of 5 so it was going to be £2.5k on tests 😱

@MrsElijahMikaelson1 how did it work out so much for tests? For unvaccinated DS it works out at £210 for the 3 tests?
