Florida 2021?

Dh and I booked florida before pandemic- deposit was paid Jan 2020
Trip is October 2021

I dont really know what I want to get from this thread!! Is anyone else booked for florida this year? Want to wait out the agonising wait with me till we see if we can get excited or not??

Is there already a Florida 2021 chat I can ambush!!!

I'm just saying it's something to bear in mind *@Abraxan*. I'm sure you know you can still test positive for Covid, even after having the vaccine and it would definitely be a major bummer to get stranded in the US at the end of you holiday if either you tests positive.

Of course I know, as I mentioned it in my post.

However, it would be a greatly reduced risk.

Fortunately my travel insurance also covers us for covid, so whilst it wouldn't be ideal it wouldn't cost us too much money if it did happen.

And hopefully by October some of these rules might have been scrapped as more and more people are vaccinated and the link between cases and serious illness/death is further eroded.

We have to make the love to restart abroad holidays at some point. Fingers crossed it's sooner rather than later.

I've booked for November. Really hope I get to go. Booked pre covid for end of March 2020 then had to move it to April 2021 only to have to rearrange again.

We usually go for 3 weeks, 3 times a year and our next trip is scheduled for 26th Aug, we have missed it soooooooooo much!

Desperately clinging on but losing hope now. We can possibly reschedule to Oct if DH can get the leave but in the meantime we have a back up booking going to Antigua on the same dates.

We have also booked for Florida May 2022 so praying one of the 3 will come off!

We’re booked for 19 August and Virgin won’t confirm cancellation until 31 July so in limbo. I can’t quarantine after as I work in a hospital and rules are clear. We’re talking about moving it to Christmas. If we cancel we’ll lose the deposit which for 9 people is a lot to lose when if we’d cancelled last year they would have given a full refund. We paid £3k more to move to 2021 so now feels like they are looking for a way to keep our money. I can’t see august happening but who knows, a lot can change in a week.

Anybody heard yet? We are still in limbo, if TUI cancel we get a 20% spend against a holiday for next year so could upgrade both our hotel and flights. Obviously that would sweeten the pill, so to speak!
I just want to know now so I can book something else instead.

It’s a difficult one if I had a Florida trip booked I would transfer over to spring 22.

I won’t transfer as if tui cancel they give us 20% to spend towards our rebooking. We are just waiting it out.
